In September, songbird migration is in full swing and Broad-winged Hawks are beginning their migration south by the thousands. We’ll search the Lower Ledges for new birds, and as the day warms, we’ll look upward to see if there are any kettles of Broad-winged Hawks circling south. We’ll base this hike from the Boat Ramp Parking lot and stay on the pavement for easy walking. For those who want to bring a lawn chair, we can linger and see what flies overhead.
